Every year, the Kanga Cup Organising Committee is on the lookout for enthusiastic, driven people to join their team in a number of different roles!

Whether you’re studying and looking for experience in a rewarding, fast-paced field, you’re keen to take on a new challenge as a Venue Manager or you want to lend some of your time to the Kanga Cup, we want to hear from you!


Venue Managers

Kanga Cup Venue Managers are an integral part of the tournament running smoothly, and during the week will be the first point of contact at each ground for many participants.

The primary tasks will centre on communications, people management, time management and delegation.

Specific tasks include:

  • Be the KCOC representative at venues to answer questions and help competing teams, spectators and Kanga Cup partners (such as merchandisers and photographers).
  • Liaise with your workforce team to ensure tasks are completed and teams are content – delegate/help if necessary.
  • Liaise with the KCOC throughout the week in regard to field condition and the ability to play matches.
  • Set Up/Pack Up Kanga Cup signage at venue and lock up each day.

Referee Appointments Officer

This role is the first point of contact for all referee appointment enquiries during and 1 month prior to the Kanga Cup.

The primary tasks will focus on communication, people management, time management and delegation.

Specific tasks include:

  • Develop and maintain the Tournament Referee database.
  • Allocate Match Officials into appointment panels based on their qualifications, experience and age.
  • Draft the group stage appointments prior to the Tournament commencing.
  • Liaise with the Head of Referees when drafting appointments to finals matches.
  • Communicate the appointments and any appointment changes to Referees, Referee Coaches and Referee Coordinators as soon as possible.
  • Liaise with Match Officials and Referee Coordinators as necessary.

Referee Coordinators

Kanga Cup Referee Coordinators are the main point of contact for all Match Officials and related inquiries at each venue.

The primary tasks will focus on communication, people management, time management and delegation.

Specific tasks include:

  • Liaise with Referee Appointments Officer in appointing officials to matches.
  • Liaise with Referee Coaches to ensure match officials receive appropriate coaching.
  • Assist match officials with match day administration before/after the match.

Volunteers

The Kanga Cup is an event that relies on the contribution of volunteers to run seamlessly each year.

There are plenty of roles to go around each year, and you can pick your preferred one based on who you are and what you enjoy.

Between Venue Managers, Venue Assistants, Results Managers, Referee Coordinators and more there is a position for everyone at the Kanga Cup.

Are you a budding videographer?

Do you have an eye for a great video? Are you passionate about telling stories in video form? If the answer is yes, then our Kanga Cup Videographer internship might be for you!
Kanga Cup is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious, videographer to help tell the story of the 2024 tournament and create promotional material for future editions. Interested?
