Hudl partners with 2016 NSR Kanga Cup, bringing video analysis to grassroots
The NSR Kanga Cup is proud to announce an official Partnership with video analysis company Hudl for the 2016 tournament.
The NSR Kanga Cup is widely known as the major football event on the sporting calendar for many parents and players, with teams travelling far and wide to the nation’s capital, Canberra ACT, to compete for a week of fun, excitement and community.
Hudl is excited to partner with the 2016 NSR Kanga Cup to showcase the company’s 2025 vision to capture and bring value to every moment in sports.
In 2015, Hudl acquired Sportstec, a locally developed performance analysis software company. Sportstec products are being used by professional teams around the globe, including all 20 English Premier league teams, all A League teams, the Socceroos and Matildas. The combination of Sportstec and Hudl brings professional level products to grassroots teams.
While Sportstec is well-known for its high-quality analysis tools, Hudl allows coaches and players to share the video and data with one another. They can also communicate via in-app messaging to discuss important learning points like a coach’s game plan or general areas of improvement.
“We are really excited to be involved in this year’s Kanga Cup,” said Michael Conlan, Country Manager for Hudl.
During the tournament, Hudl will be on the sidelines showing clubs the benefits of live video analysis. “The idea of videoing a game has always been seen as a costly challenge at the grassroots level. Hudl makes it as simple as using your mobile device,” said Conlan.
We want kids to get excited about showing their friends, family and teammates their own custom highlights, and Hudl allows them to do just that. This can also help them get recruited to the next level of competition.
“The Hudl partnership is a great fit for the tournament as it provides access to industry leading software to grassroots football, which can only assist in the positive development of community football, said Tournament Director Michael Kelly. “Hudl also bring some great value to the tournament with some of the initiatives they are looking to put in place providing added value to the teams, but also contributing to the Kanga Cup’s overall digital coverage”
Hudl will be at the tournament all week, demoing the software and educating coaches, parents and players about the benefits of video analysis.
