“We entered the competition to give our committed Mudgee Wolves U11’s team the opportunity to be immersed in an international competition whilst representing our hometown.
“It is also a great opportunity to bring the team together over a whole week, with their families, to build team culture and spirit with competitive football plus fun activities after the games and to experience and create a memorable experience that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.”
That life experience is the key element of particpation for the Wolves and has been the backbone of the [KEEPUP.] Kanga Cup since its inception as a much smaller entity back in the early-nineties.
“We hope that the players, coaches, and their families are immersed in an unforgettable experience built on teamwork and sportsmanship, learning new skills, make new friends and enjoying the week away together,” Stein revealed.
“As a team we have fund raised extra dollars to ensure that the families and players get the most out of their week. We have planned to take them for team dinners and some extra activities like Paintball and Kingpin for arcade games. Some of the families will also visit some local wineries.”
Mudgee Wolves will find themselves in a very competitive U11 competition but are looking forward to the challenge. After all, then [KEEPUP.] Kanga Cup’s reputation already precedes it in this respect.
“Mudgee Gulgong Wolves entered the Kanga Cup as it is the biggest football competition in the Southern Hemisphere,” Stein admitted. “It is a great opportunity for our country boys to compete at a more intense level and benchmark ourselves against other competition.”
