The 2019 McDonald’s Kanga Cup Organising Committee (KCOC) are now seeking registrations from the junior referee community who would like to officiate at the 2019 McDonald’s Kanga Cup in July.
The 2019 McDonald’s Kanga Cup will be held in Canberra from Sunday 7th July to Friday 12th July 2019.
Referees and Game Leaders play a critical role in the facilitation and success of the McDonald’s Kanga Cup which and provides a unique opportunity for local junior referees to experience officiating at the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.
The KCOC are looking for referees of differing levels, from Game Leaders in their first year of officiating through to Level 4 Referees or higher who have been officiating for a long period.
As a Local referee you will receive a match payment for each match you officiate, ranging from $6 to $36 per match. If you officiate regularly during the week you can expect to earn between $100 and $300 from the tournament!
Local referees will receive coaching and support from our dedicated team of Referee Coaches (local, interstate and international) and Referee Coordinators as part of the McDonald’s Kanga Cup Referee Curriculum developed by the Referee Coaching Coordinator.
As part of the training and education program, the KCOC will be holding two McDonald’s Kanga Cup training days for Referees and Game Leaders in June. Each training day will include specific sessions for officiating small sided games (U9 to U11) and junior matches (U12 and above). More details about these two training days will be communicated to registered Local Referees once the details have been confirmed.
Anyone who has not been selected for the 2019 Kanga Cup Referee Youth Academy; is a registered Game Leader or Junior Referee is classified as a Kanga Cup ‘Local Referee’. Referees from Interstate who are not registered as a Capital Football Referee but with another Member Federation or association can also register as a Kanga Cup ‘Local Referee’.
Referees and Game Leaders can now register for the McDonald’s Kanga Cup as a ‘Local Referee’ by completing the Match Official Registration Form before Friday 21st June.
