Lindfield FC pride themselves as a family friendly club that focuses on strong community roots and is run by dedicated volunteers.
Based in the Upper North Shore of Sydney and established in 1957, Lindfield are a foundation club of the Northern Suburbs Football Association.
The Lindfield FC U14 Girls team have started their 2023 KEEPUP Kanga Cup Tournament with a bang, showing their skills and capabilities extensively in the opening games of their KEEPUP Kanga Cup journey.
Assistant Coach Maddy Short has expressed her excitement for the team and hopeful the girls will create a great team-bonding experience.
“We’re excited to win, finals here we come!” Short expressed. “We’re really prepared and trying to stay positive, and our first game was a good setup so we’re excited.”
The KEEPUP Kanga Cup Tournament allows teams to have a mixture of players from different age groups play up. A mixture of different ages in the teams creates a learning experience of different skill sets for the players.
“Our team has great players, a mix of 13s and 14s. They all work really hard, and I love their constant willingness to stay determined,” Short said
Lindfield has shown their experienced skills with their two wins on the first day of the tournament over Hornsby Heights FC and Woden Valley.
The excitement of the KEEPUP Kanga Cup Tournament has encouraged Lindfield FC to return to the tournament again this year, allowing the team to create a better bond and to learn new skills from different teams.
“We’re a returning team, we all love the competition and it’s fun to get out of our regular competition into a new competition and play some new teams and see where our skill sets lie.” Short revealed.
The KEEPUP Kanga Cup Tournament is the largest International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere, and it aims to create a fun experience for the players, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
Assistant Coach Short are excited for the girls to get out there and have a fun experience playing against different teams from around the country in addition to some teams around the world.
“We’re hoping to have a great experience, try to build some team confidence and build some diversity in the teams we verse and all around just create a better team.”
Lindfield FC look to go all the way to the finals and are prepared for whatever they face in the 2023 KEEPUP Kanga Cup Tournament.
