Disputes and Disciplinary


IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LOCALLY SUSPENDED PLAYERS

Players currently serving suspensions or disciplinary sanctions in their local Premiership/ winter competitions may notice that these appear on their Dribl profiles during Kanga Cup 2025. Please note that Kanga Cup operates under its own tournament-specific disciplinary rules, and suspensions from other competitions do not automatically apply within this event. 

That said, if a player’s Dribl profile currently shows a suspension, they are eligible to participate in Kanga Cup AFTER they request a Participation Waiver by emailing: disciplinary@kangacup.com prior to their first match. This is essential to ensure the player’s eligibility is properly reviewed. 

Important:
If you are granted a waiver, the email confirmation from KC Disciplinary team it must be shown to the opposition team manager and the referee prior to submitting the match sheet before each game. 

DISPUTING A CARD

Refer to Section 3, Article 2 of the 2025 Kanga Cup Dispute & Disciplinary Regulations for more details. 

Red Card Disputes – a red card may only be disputed on the following two (2) grounds: 

  • Mistaken Identity 
  • Obvious Error 

Yellow Card Disputes – a yellow card may only be disputed on the ground of: 

  • Mistaken Identity 

(i) In the case of Mistaken Identity: 

  • At the end of a Match, Team Officials must check with the Referee confirming that all details on the score card, including the attribution of Yellow Cards, and Red Cards are correct, in accordance with the Tournament Competition Regulations. 
  • If a Player or Team Official believes that they have been mistakenly identified on the team sheet by a Referee, the Team Official must notify Referee and the Venue Manager within 30 (thirty) minutes of the conclusion of the match. When appealing the identity, the Team must advise which Player or Team Official should have been issued with the Sanction. 

(ii) In the case of Obvious Error – Red Card only: 

 

CHALLENGING SUSPENSION NOTICE

Refer to Section 3, Article 3 of the 2025 Kanga Cup Dispute & Disciplinary Regulations for more details.   

Once a Notice of Suspension is issued, the red card and any minimum match suspension (MMS) cannot be removed from a participant’s record. However, a suspension may be challenged under the following circumstances: 

  1. If the Offence Code applied by Kanga Cup Disciplinary Team is disputed
  2. If the suspension imposed is greater than the minimum sanction for the offence
     

To challenge a suspension, Teams must submit a 2025 Kanga Cup Challenging Notice of Suspension  form along with the following documentation within four (4) hours of the Team contact receiving notification of the Notice of Suspension or Determination. A payment of $1,500 is required before the KCOC will consider the submission. 

 

OTHER ISSUES OR COMPLAINTS

Kanga Cup Organising Committee encourages that concerns and complaints be resolved at the lowest appropriate level. This promotes timely resolution and accountability within each team and match environment. 

General Reporting Principles 

Always start at the level where the incident occurred. 

If no resolution is reached, escalate step by step—do not skip levels unless the incident is severe or dangerous. 

Documentation (photos, witness details, match reports) is encouraged where appropriate to support formal complaints. 

Below is a tiered guide to escalation:

1. Team Level (Initial Point of Contact)

  • What to Report:
    Incidents involving team members, spectators supporting your team, or low-level behavioral issues. 
  • Who Handles It:
    Team Officials (e.g., team managers, coaches). 
  • Action Expected:
    The Team Official should:
    Attempt to resolve the issue on the spot.Monitor for repeat behavior.Report internally if needed for documentation or awareness.

2. Venue Manager / Field Official Level

  • What to Report:
    Any escalated issues involving opposing teams, match-related disputes, or if initial efforts at team level fail. 
  • Who Handles It:
    The Venue Manager or Match Day Field Official at the playing fields. 
  • Reporting Process:
    Bring the concern to the attention of the Venue Manager or Field Official as soon as possible.The Venue Manager will observe, intervene if necessary, and submit a formal report to Capital Football for further review. 

3. Kanga Cup Disciplinary Team/ Governing Body Level

  • What to Report:
    Serious incidents, including violence, abuse, or repeated breaches of codes of conduct
    Cases where venue staff or team officials could not resolve the situation.
    Issues requiring disciplinary or tribunal action
  • Who Handles It:
    Kanga Cup Disciplinary Team
  • Action Expected:
    A formal review may be conducted based on reports from Venue Managers, referees, or submitted complaints.Sanctions or formal warnings may result depending on the outcome
