Get excited as the Team Registration for the 2025 Kanga Cup is now open! Teams are now invited to submit their registrations for what will be the 33rd edition of the largest Youth football tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.
The 2025 edition of the Kanga Cup has switched to the second week of the school holidays, shifting from its usual place in the first week, and will take place from Monday 14 July to Friday 18 July in Canberra, ACT.
Changing to the second week of the School Holidays has given the Kanga Cup Organising Committee (KCOC) the opportunity to trial some changes for this year’s tournament which will be capped at a total of 324 teams across the eight age groups that are on offer.
Every team will play at least five (5) round robin games during the week and every age group division will feature Semi-Finals before the Grand Final. The number of teams participating in the Semi-Finals will depend on the division structure.
There will be no U17 or U18 competition in 2025. This decision was not made lightly and is a result of low participation rates in recent years.
The number of teams that can be entered in each age group and division has been determined through a review of previous tournaments’ participation, availability of resources (fields, referees, facilities) and the need to ensure our fields survive the tournament for local football competitions post-Kanga Cup.
You can find details of the maximum team capacity per age group, and further key information on the 2025 Kanga Cup below.
