The McDonald’s Kanga Cup is back! After a forced hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Capital Football is pleased to announce that the 2022 McDonald’s Kanga Cup will take place this July and registrations for this unique week-long event in Canberra are open now!

The ever-popular event, which was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, will make its long awaited return and is scheduled to take place from Monday 4 July to Friday 8 July with the Opening Ceremony slated for Sunday 3 July.

After being paused for two years, the 2022 edition is set to be bigger and better than ever and clubs from around the country, and further afield, are encouraged to register for their respective age groups and, with competitions from under-9 up to under-18, there really is something for everyone.

“This isn’t just about the matches,” Tournament Director Clare Pyc commented. “This is a week-long festival of football, fun and friendship. Youngsters from all over Australia mingle here in the national capital and forge what often become life-long friendships

“It’s been a tricky couple of years for the competition, but we are back and promising that the 2022 edition of the McDonald’s Kanga Cup will have been certainly worth the wait.”
