St. George FA have the honour of being the first entrants for the 2016 NSR Kanga Cup following the opening of registrations this week. The Sydney based club were quick out of the blocks to get their registration in, the first of over 40 to sign up during the early stages.
To make matters even more exciting it’s the first visit to the competition for this group of youngsters and spokesman Gace Ahmad is looking forward to what should be a terrific week of fun, friendship and football in the national capital.
“Having the team travel together and enjoy this experience will be something we are looking forward to,” Ahmad said. “Hopefully, what they learn while travelling will develop them into better footballers and people. We want to see our team enjoy themselves, learn more about the game they love and to hopefully go as far as possible within the tournament.”
Ahmad is expecting the NSR Kanga Cup experience to be one that showcases the talent he has available at St. George FA and points out that his group is full of potential game-changers who could have a long future in the game.
“The competition is a great opportunity to highlight and witness some of the future stars of the game,” Ahmad commented. “It also exposes our team to the best our nation has to offer. We know all of our players are stars with each player bringing a unique and exceptional array of skill sets to the game. The Team is like a family. They all have a great bond and have built a great friendship. They all have one thing in common ‘Football’. They are very passionate and are all star players, always giving 100% and love to have fun.”
