The Kanga Cup Opening Ceremony is always a highlight for the competing teams and this year promises to be no different. Here’s our handy guide to what you need to know ahead of the Tournament Opener.

DATE: Sunday 7 July 2024

LOCATION: Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, Canberra

TIME: 2pm start, so assembly from 12:30pm

TEAM KIT BAGS: Can be picked up from St John the Evangelist Chapel ANU, 51 Daley Rd, Acton ACT 2601(John XXIII College) between 9am and 5.30pm.

BANNERS: Bring your team colours and banners for the official march past!

WEATHER: It’s likely to be cold, so make sure you wrap up warm, and bring an umbrella just in case!

PARKING: Public parking is available around Commonwealth Park.

SEATING: There are no seats at the venue. So, bring your own chairs, or picnic rugs to sit on.

REFRESHMENTS: There will be a variety of refreshments available including Crepe Stand, Slinko Potato on A Stick, Café Loco Coffee Van, and BZ Burgers.

OTHER ENTERTAINMENT: Official Merchandise Stand, Deploy Football, SportsHeads, National Zoo & Aquarium Activation.
