2019 McDonald’s Kanga Cup attendees are reminded of the need to park in advised areas only, and that private carparks are not to be used for Tournament Parking.
In particular;
Southwell Park: Attendees are reminded they MUST NOT park in the car park of the Canberra Archery Club. This car park is for members only, and the club members have a legal obligation to lock the gates when leaving, meaning any and all cars remaining in there will be locked in until members return. Please also use care when chasing footballs at Southwell Park, as there have been reports of players running onto the Archery range to retrieve these, which is very unsafe. The club is happy to help with retrieval, simply head over to the clubhouse to speak with someone and they will assist.
PLAYR Harrison Playing Fields: McDonald’s Kanga Cup attendees MUST NOT park in the car park of the Harrison Childcare Centre. Filling this car park presents a danger to Childcare centre staff and Children, and cars parked there may be ticketed.
Latham Playing Fields: Please be mindful when parking that you DO NOT block the driveways of residents! It is obviously quite a big hassle to have your driveway blocked, so we ask that you be aware of this when finding a spot. Keep the street as clear as possible, and avoid parking directly opposite another car parked on the road. Finally, when it is bin day, don’t park in front of bins or the garbage truck may pick your car up instead (ok maybe not, but you may be fined or have an angry note from a resident)!
Waramanga Playing Fields: The ACT Government visited Waramanga on Monday, and noted the large number of cars parked on the grass verge on Badimara Street. Inspectors were kind enough to waive fees on Monday, however from Tuesday will be ticketing cars that are parked illegally.
Wright Park, Queanbeyan: Council parking inspectors will be issuing fines from Wednesday morning to anyone parked illegally around Wright Park. DO NOT park across or in any way impeding the SES station driveway, or any other driveway. Obey posted signs at ALL TIMES.
We want everyone to have fun during the week, but just remember that this event can impact other people, so let’s make sure it’s in a positive way only!
More information on parking fines in the ACT can be found here.
And check out our tournament fields page, where we’ve got field maps including parking. But if you’re ever unsure, just obey the signs and have a great time!
